YOU'RE INVITED TO COME ON OUT AND SUPPORT THE 'HURRICANE SANDY DISASTER RELIEF FUNDRAISER' BEING HELD AT CARIBBEAN SUNSHINE EATERY IN WINTER GARDEN THIS FRI. NOV. 30th FROM 7:00PM - !2:00AM WHERE TOGETHER WE CAN HELP REBUILD JAMAICA IN THE AFTERMATH OF THE HURRICANE.

Hi Sandra,
Immediately following the hurricane (actually as it was still passing over), our staff in Jamaica have been in the field assessing the needs. The eastern side of the island (especially St. Thomas, Portland and St. Mary…along with some areas of St. Catherine and St. Ann) has taken a great hit.
“The message is that the island was hit worse than originally believed, that even though news reports now have moved on to the forward path of this very dangerous storm, the people of Jamaica are in a dire situation and need help. Food For The Poor already had storm relief items in its warehouse in Kingston and those are being distributed, but additional containers were sent and will be there tomorrow. The most urgent need now is for cash donations so that food supplies can be replenished, and there will be an immense need for home building funds going forward to get people into safe homes and prevent any more deaths from landslides.”
